Christmas Comes Early for Edery & Lord Communications

The Original Santa Claus Parade has selected Edery & Lord Communications as the public relations agency of record (PR AOR) for the Original Santa Claus Parade.

The PR AOR title continues the agency’s winning streak in both account wins, and award show accolades this year.  In 2023, Edery & Lord extended its client roster to include Prostate Cancer Foundation Canada, Bubble Planet, Italian Trade Association, Chandos Construction, Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR), Jurassic World: The Exhibition, and Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience.  Edery & Lord was also named Gold Quill Global Small Agency of the Year by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and was awarded Best Creative Campaign of the Year by the Canadian Public Relations Society’s ACE Awards (CPRS ACE).

The creative, boutique-sized agency with deep roots in integrated communications starts work immediately, implementing a robust PR and influencer strategy to generate excitement and drive attendance and viewership for the 119th edition of the Parade, which takes place in Toronto on Sunday, November 26, 2023.

“After meeting with several agencies, we were impressed by Edery & Lord’s energy, passion and fresh ideas for the Parade and believe they’re the best agency to help us spread holiday cheer and anticipation for this year’s event,” says Clay Charters, president and CEO, the Original Santa Claus Parade.

The PR AOR designation also includes members from the agency’s leadership, partner Martine Lévy, and vice president of strategy, Keka DasGupta, being appointed as public relations co-directors to the Original Santa Claus Parade Board.

“The Original Santa Claus Parade is a treasured annual event that brings joy to Toronto city streets and to those watching the Parade across Canada.   We are thrilled to take part in this magical holiday tradition,” says Lévy.

Edery & Lord Communications will collaborate with the Original Santa Claus Parade’s marketing and publicity partners, including McCann and Siphon Strategy to implement the integrated campaign.

The Parade starts at 12:30 pm at Christie Pits, proceeds east along Bloor Street to Spadina Avenue, then travels south on Spadina Avenue, east on Harbord Street and Hoskin Avenue, then south on Queens Park Crescent and University Avenue, east on Wellington Street, and south again on Yonge Street to Front Street. From there, the Parade will head east on Front Street and finish at the St. Lawrence Market at Jarvis Street. It is anticipated that the Parade will attract up to 750,000 guests along its route, taking approximately 2.5 hours to complete.

In addition, the Original Santa Claus Parade will air exclusively on CTV, CTV.ca and the CTV app. Additional broadcast details to be announced at a later date.
